Abay Bank Commences ATM Service

Abay Bank officially launched card banking through Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) yesterday – Saturday, July 12, 2014.

The bank has installed 10 ATMs, of the NCR brand, through the manufacturer’s local partner, Moti Engineering Plc, with a capital of 2.5 million Br. The new ATM units have been installed at Megenegna Zefmeshe Grand Mall, Bole, Piazza, Tewedros Square and Kera.

Abay Bank, which was established in 2010, currently has 71 branches across the country. It has 1600 public shareholders, made up predominantly of farmers cooperatives and union businessmen. The paid-up capital of the Bank reached 306.7 million birr on October 19, 2013, and its subscribed capital is 323.1 million birr.

The Bank is also in the final stages of implementing multi-channel banking, such as mobile banking, internet banking and e-commerce, according to the official website of the Bank.
