Awash International Bank S.C. (AIB) announces a profit of 861 million Br in the just ended fiscal year up by 35pc from the last year’s profit.
The Bank’s deposit from customer has reached a little more than 16 billion Br up by three billion Birr from the fiscal year of 2012/13.
The loan amount it has extended to its customers in 2013/14 has exceeded that of the previous year’s by 1.4 billion Br and reached 9.2 billion Br, according to a press release from the bank.
The income of the bank from different sources such as loan interest, and service commission and service fee has reached 1.9 billion birr which has an increase by half a billion.
The bank also opened 35 new branches in the fiscal year making the whole branches of the bank 150. It has installed 100 new Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and 400 Point of Sell (PoS).
Awash has also began activities on core banking system and reached at its final stage and it expects to have better income from foreign exchange as the bank has got recognition to receive master card.
