BLUE LIONS

The Anbessa City Bus S.C. was founded in 1945. Originally owned by Emperor Haile Selassie and members of the royal family, it was nationalised in 1974 and became a public enterprise only after it was re-established in 1994. The blue buses acquired last year were deployed primarily for transporting government employees but recently they have been widely used as another option for the general public along with the older Anbessa (lion) red and yellow buses like the one seen in the background. Will the new lions relieve the burden? Only time will tell.
