Capital Hotel & Spa to Inaugurate 51m Br Spa

Capital Hotel & Spa is going to live up to its full name on March 2015 by inaugurating a spa it has constructed for 51 million Br over the two course of years.

The spa, which is in the finishing stages now, is expected to commence services by the end of next month, according to Abreham Zerihun, marketing manager of the Hotel.

The spa is located behind the Hotel, which has been in business since May, 2013. It is owned by Yemane Gebreselassie, who is also the owner of Hosea Plc, a company engaged in the import of steel products, automotive parts, machinery and equipment and sales services and export of agriculture commodities.

The Hotel was constructed for 720 million Br on a 19,380sqm plot of land on Haile Gebreselassie Street. The hotel has 114 rooms, conference halls, a gymnasium and a swimming pool.

The Spa is part of the expansion which is taking place on 1,500sqm plot of land on a five storey building. Two floors are designated for spa, one for gymnasium and one for conference hall and the remaining one for a night club. The construction had started two years back and the gymnasium started service eight months ago and the conference hall just a month ago.

The spa is on second and third floor, one for men and the other for women. Each floor has beauty salons, steam, Jacuzzi, which can accommodate 16 people at a time. It also has a spa, four separate massage rooms, sauna room, morocco bath, manicure, pedicure and medicure service rooms .

The spa will also have an executive room designated to officials and ministers as well as couples who want to use the spa alone, according to Abreham.

The Spa equipment is bought from China, Dubai, and Italy. It also features locally manufactured equipment. The walls of the rooms will be covered with mosaic arts and handmade art works, giving the appearance of natural attraction, according to Daniel Haregewoin, executive director of DHBH (Design Home Build House) Plc, an interior design company that is working on the interior design of the Spa.

The construction took longer to be finalised as the sanitary and waterproof works needed much time and attention, according to Daniel.

After the inauguration, Capital will join major spas in the market including Belle-Vue Hotel & Spa, off Diaspora Square, owned by the Ethio-Turkish athlete Elvan Abey Legesse; Boston Day Spa, prominent and well known spa in Addis Abeba is owned by Tadios Belelte, owner of Kuriftu Resort, and Dayi’s Day Spa, located behind D.H. Geda Tower.
