Lack of skilled labour and formal strategy; a very long supply and market chain; scheduling delays; and a low technological advancement are seriously hampering the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) market in Ethiopia.
Nuredin Mohammed, general manager of Alle Bejimla, a state owned Wal-Mart inspired wholesaler and retailer; Adam Abate, founding partner of Apposite LLC; and Dario Minutella, manager of AT Kearney Ethiopia, told this to attendants invited to the annual CEO Summit as they discussed opportunities in Ethiopia’s fast moving consumer goods market and the potential opportunity it creates for businesses and economic development.
The CEO Summit was organised by Precise Consult International (PCI), a management consultancy firm, on November 19, 2014, at the Sheraton Addis.
