A five storey building which housed branch offices Abyssinia and Dashen Banks collapsed in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 27, 2016. It was an unfinished building that had barely completed its ground floor.
The building, located just behind the former Summit Bottling Factory, had long suffered from sudden shocks and fractures, its security guards reported. The property of both banks was totally buried under the debris and an operation to unearth them was being carried out with a line of police safeguarding the compound. There were no reported casualties.
