Dow Chemical Opens Ethiopian Office

The Dow Chemical Company, an American multinational chemical corporation, and a manufacturer of plastics, chemicals, and agricultural products opened a subsidiary office in Ethiopia.

The company appointed Max Robinson as the first General Manager for Dow Ethiopia, effective from July 7, 2014.  Dow has been operating in Africa for over 50 years.

According to a press release by the Company, Dow’s work in Ethiopia is crucial to the country’s future growth and the Company’s business success. The company will also provide solutions to be part of growth across industries, whether it is in agriculture, infrastructure, energy, or manufacturing.

The Company which has a presence in about 180 countries employs about 53,000 people. In 2013, Dow had annual sales of more than 57 billion dollar. The Company has 6,000 products manufactured at 201 sites in 36 countries across the globe.
