International investors in the power sector are to come to Ethiopia and meet with the Ethiopian government at the annual Power Africa: Ethiopia Meeting, from November 20-25.
The event organised by the Energy Net is expected to connect governments with local and international power infrastructure developers and financiers with the ability to bring new investment opportunities into the region. The meeting will also put Ethiopia on the map for global investment and support the government’s plans of becoming a Climate Resilient Green Economy by 2015.
The electrification of the country will fall short of the planned 10,000 megawatts by the end of the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP) period.
