The manufacturing industry, which is currently worth 1.35 billion dollars in Ethiopia, is helped by-way-of a competitive tax breaks, a privileged duty-free status, a free land lease agreement for up-to 80 years for factories to make Ethiopia an ideal destination for investment.

The gathering was told, Ethiopia is aiming to facilitate investments of upwards of $1 billion dollars from the manufacturing industry at its industrial parks and that brand name companies such as Calvin Klein are considering using suppliers from the parks.
