Enforcing Third Party Insurance Law
Insurance Fund Office (IFO) is taking measures on vehicle owners who have not registered and renewed their third party insurance yet. The measures taken include 3,000 Br to 5,000 Br in fines and one to two years of imprisonment. A rigorous enforcement of the law is being applied after the IFO identified that many car owners flailed to renew their third party insurance policy.

CONSTRUCTION
Potable Water Project Underway
Construction of a potable water project is underway in Shire’endasilassie town at a cost of more than 40 million Br, the town’s water service office said. The project includes the construction of two sink wells and the installation of a pipeline and reservoir, according to Zenebe Hadush, office manager at the water service office. The project will enhance the water coverage of the town to 50pc from the current 30pc upon its completion in one year.

Ministry Issues Implementation Strategies for Land Lease Proclamation
The Ministry of Urban Development and Construction (MoUDC) said it has issued detailed implementation strategies for the proper enactment of the land lease proclamation. The strategies would help demarcate industrial zone address issues including land development, rehabilitation and transfer as well as cadastral information management, Isreal Tesfaye, Ministry Land Development and Administration Bureau head. The training was organised to familiarise the strategies for 150 professionals drawn from across the country. The ministry is implementing various polices and strategies to address problem related urban land management, he said. Professionals drawn from all regional states, town administrations took part in the week-long training.

Nation Secures $1bn from Export
Ethiopiahas secured one billion dollars from foreign exports over the past five months, the Ministry of Trade (MoT) said. The revenue obtained in the reference period has surpassed same period last year by 108.6 million dollars. While coffee and gold take the lion’s share of the earning, khat, oil seeds, cereals, live animals and flowers have also contributed a great share of the revenue.

Ethiopian Airlines Enhancing Tourism Flow toTanzania
Ethiopian Airlines and the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to increase tourism flow toTanzaniavia Ethiopian Airlines. The agreement calls for Ethiopian to support Tanzanian tour operators by giving their clients priority seating, and joint promotion of Ethiopian and Tanzanian tourism destinations in the international market.

ModjoDryPortExecutes Expansion Projects
Modjo Dry Port Service under the auspices of the Ethiopian Shipping & Logistics Service Enterprise (ESLSE) is undertaking expansion projects at a cost of 718 millionBr.The three-phase expansion projects will raise the port service to a higher standard. The construction of international standard container terminals is also underway on 8.6ha of land.
