For Alex Kyriakides, president and managing director of Marriott International for Middle East and Africa, the opening of the first Marriott Executive Apartments in sub-Saharan Africa and its 12th property in the continent, is the latest in a series of important landmark hotel signings and openings Marriott has made in Africa. The Marriott Executive Apartments Hotel comes as Africa experiences a rapid economic growth. Samuel and Kyriakides signed an agreement on September 30, 2015, to expand the Courtyard Marriott into a five-star international hotel.
