The third Addis Agrofood Agriculture, Agricultural Machinery, Food, Food Technologies & Packaging Exhibition opened at the Exhibition Centre on November 27, 2015.
The three-day exhibition, organised by Ethel Advertising & Communication Plc, a local event organiser and its international Expo team located in Turkey, was first held in 2011 and is aimed at increasing the market performance of the agricultural sector.
Although the exhibition used to be held biennially, the organisers have now decided to arrange the event annually to support the growth and development of the sector.
Haymanot Tesfaye, managing director of Ethel Advertising & Communication, while briefing media in a press conference at Harmony Hotel on November 24, said that 60pc of this year’s exhibition’s cost was covered by the Turkish government while Ethel covered the other 40pc through sponsorship. The Turkish government sent 29 companies to participate in the exhibition, while another 12 foreign companies visited. These included Bosch, a German company that prepared a half day packaging symposium during the event.
Major local companies like Petram Plc, Kedir Endalaw Importer and others also were part of the exhibition.
