Tourism Fetches 48m Br for Hawassa

Over 48 million Br revenue was secured in Hawassa Town in the South Region from tourists who visited attraction sites over the past six months.

The stated sum exceeded the previous year same period by nine million Birr, the Town Culture, Tourism & Communication Affairs Department said.

The stated amount of revenue is secured from over 93,940 local and foreign tourists who visited historic and natural sites during the reported period.

It attributed the success for promotion activities carried out in collaboration with stakeholders, infrastructure development in destination areas and making destinations attractive for tourists.

Saleof Fattened Animals Earns Farmers 30m Br

Farmers in West Shoa Zone of the Oromia Region earned over 30 million Br net profit from sale of fattened animals over the past six months, the Woreda Livestock Office said.

Office representative, Bayisa Bulto, said last more than 1,000 farmers engaged in animal husbandry alongside with crop production have secured the stated sum.

The farmers secured the stated sum from sale of over 4,000 fattened animals.
