Unity Hosts 15th Annual Research Conference

Unity University hosted its 15th annual Multidisciplinary Research Conference on June 24 and June 25, 2015, with 25 research presentations selected from local universities.

Unity University first held its research conference back in 2002, after its establishment as a language school with no more than 50 students in 1991. Seven years later, it became a college which awarded students diplomas in business. In November 2008, it was bought by the MIDROC Technology Group. Currently, Unity University offers students undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, TVET programmes, Distance and Continuing Education and executive training programmes.

The conference is a great opportunity for scholars of various disciplines to share their latest discoveries and studies, said the CEO of MIDROC Ethiopia Technology Group and President of Unity University, Arega Yirdaw (PhD).

The studies presented focused on issues of climate change and agriculture, energy and development, education and health. The two-day event also saw seven publications from the university’s staff.
