60-year Anniversary




The Economic Commission for Africa celebrated its 60th anniversary attended by  (third from left) Vera Songwe, executive secretary of the UN body; Kwesi Quartey, deputy chairperson of the African Union Commision; and Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen. The Africa Poverty Clock was launched at the event, which will provide real-time estimates of poverty in the continent back to 1930.
