Addis International Bank (AIB), one of the 16 private commercial banks, become the 14th bank to partner with the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) for transactions that occur within the ECX.
The agreement was signed between Wondimagegnehu Negeri, CEO of ECX and Hailu Alemu, president of Addis International.
Currently, 13 banks entered an agreement with the ECX for transactions, of which 11 have started providing services. Since its establishment a decade ago, the ECX has transacted 182.8 billion Br as deposits and 177.2 billion Br as withdrawals. The number of Bank accounts has also reached 5,500.
This fiscal year, the Authority has also transacted 31 billion Br of products. It has also opened new offices in Bule-hora, in west and central Guji of Oromia Regional State.
