The Ethiopian Football Federation and Heineken Ethiopia, the owner of Bedele Brewery, signed a 24 million Br sponsorship agreement at Hilton Hotel on December 12, 2012.
President of the Ethiopian Football Federation, Sahlu Gebremariam, announced at the ceremony that Bedele Brewery has become a two year sponsor of the National Football team-The Walya.
The money will be paid to the Federation within two years according to their agreement.
“The money will help the Federation to prepare the national team for the upcoming African Cup of Nations, which will be held in a couple of months inSouth Africa,” said Sahlu.
The national football team has been absent for 31 years from the Africa Cup of Nations, despite being one of the founders. The team is currently staying at Intercontinental Hotel as they prepare for their upcoming matches.
