Capital Expands with Training School

Capital Hotel & Spa, one of the five-star hotels in the city, has opened a hospitality school, Capital Hotel Management School (CHMS), with an investment capital of seven million Br.

“The school was established with the vision of developing human resources for the booming Ethiopian hotel industry,” said Andualem Teshome, executive director of human resource & training at Capital Hotel & Spa.

The school is located next to the Hotel and will start registration of students within the next two weeks.

The school has the capacity to enrol no less than 300 students at a time and will become operational by providing a training program to Capital Hotel staff. Furthermore, it will be expected to give training to other interested hotels and the general public.

The training will be given at certificate and diploma levels and ranges from a duration of six months to two years. The training is provided by the staff of the Hotel.

CHMS has already received an accreditation certificate from the Addis Ababa City Administration Technical & Vocational Education & Training Agency on May 23, 2017, for 14 courses, according to Andualem.
