Ethiopia Improves Ranking on Sustainable Assessment

A recent report released by Boston Consulting Group pointed out that Ethiopia has improved its ranking eight places by enhancing the well-being of its citizens. The country tended to post faster economic growth over the past decade despite its lower income level.

The country has improved its score from 23.8 in 2009 to 32.9 by 2018 by improving education, infrastructure, digital technology and overall governance, parameters that were used for the assessment.

Boston Consulting’s report, Striking a Balance between Well-Being and Growth: the 2018 Sustainable Economic Development Assessment, used a proprietary diagnostic tool called the Sustainable Economic Development Assessment to produce the rankings by measuring the relative well-being of countries.
