Ethiopia and Italy signed a 696 million Br loan grant agreement for urban water and sewerage development.
The agreement was signed by Admasu Nebebe, state minister of Finance & Economic Cooperation, and Arturo Luzzi, the Italian Ambassador to Ethiopia.
The agreement stipulates that 77pc of the grant is a long-term loan, according to Haji Ibsa, public relations director at the Ministry.
The agreement will be implemented jointly by the Italian Development Cooperation and the Water, Irrigation & Electricity Ministry. The signing took place following a two-day official visit of the Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, who later flew to Asmera.
