New Body Ascends to Support Hospitality Industry

Ethiopian professionals working in the hospitality and tourism sector have formed the Ethiopian Tourism & Culture Induction Society, with the main aim of transforming the industry.

The Society’s target is assisting the tourism in research-based facts, educational and media follow up strategies as well as safeguarding the theft of heritages and better mindsets about the nation’s culture and history. The new group came into effect after registering itself with the Ethiopian Charities & Societies Agency.

“We will be serving as the Tourism Ombudsman body in the nation. We will speak up for change in actions for the tourism and stand up to challenging wrongdoings that are shortfalls for the sector,” Kumneger Teketel, managing director of Ozzie Business & Hospitality Group, said.

The Society hopes to support itself from sponsorship funds from tour and travel organisation owners, individuals and companies.
