Overseas Employment to Resume This Month

Ministry of Labour & Social Affairs (MoLSA) is finalising the implementation plan for overseas employment by the end of this month.

The Ministry is closely working with the national committee and representatives of host countries to deter illegal migration, according to Hirut Woldemariam (PhD), minister of Labour & Social Affairs.

MoLSA gave licenses to 69 technical institutions and 122 agencies to facilitate overseas employment.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health licensed 66 health institutions, which met the standard, to give medical service to the applicants.

The employee’s insurance scheme is a focal point where the Ministry forced the institution to have the agreement with the Ministry.

A new system was developed to give detailed information to the applicants, according to Hirut.
