Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn confirmed the acceptance of Bereket Simon’s resignation from the post of an adviser to the Prime Minister in charge of Policy Studies & Research Centre.
But he revealed dialogue with Abadula Gemeda continued over his request to give up his role as Speaker of Parliament. The ruling EPRDF is considering Tesfaye Daba, chair of Foreign & Defense Committee Parliament, as one of the two MPs to serve as the next Speaker, sources disclosed to Fortune.
