Investment Commissioner Tenders Resignation

Belachew Mekuria (PhD), chief of the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC), has tendered resignation from office after serving for four and half months.

Belachew was appointed as the commissioner on April 26, 2018, replacing Fitsum Arega, now chief of staff of the Prime Minister’s Office.

Before becoming the head of the Commission, Belachew has been serving as the deputy commissioner at the EIC for Industrial Park Division, since 2016. A lawyer by training. Belachew is educated in Sweden, in land management and international human rights law. He also has earned a doctoral degree in philosophy from the University of Surrey.
