Shiferaw Shigute Resigns from SEPDM

The Southern Ethiopian Peoples’ Democratic Movement (SEPDM), a coalition member of the ruling EPRDF, has seen the removal of Shiferaw Shigute from his position as chairman, replaced by Muftiha Kemal.

Shiferaw owed his departure due to the recent deadly conflicts in Hawassa and other areas of the regional state, committed under his watch. It is inevitable that he will lose his position as a Minister of Agriculture & Fisheries Resources.
