Yinager, Bekalu Most Likely Candidates to Lead Central Bank




Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) is strongly considering to appoint Yinager Dessie (PhD) to the Governor of the Central Bank, replacing Teklewold Atnafu, people close to the Prime Minister Office disclosed to Fortune.

Yinager has been serving as a minister in charge of the National Planning Commission. Bekalu Zeleke, current president of the state-owned Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), will most likely be appointed to serve as a Vice Governor
