Kassahun Follo, president of the Confederation of Ethiopian Trade Unions (CETU), told Reporter, an Amharic bi-weekly, asked what the reasons behind the lack of labour unions for employees in industrial parks are. He stresses that employers have been resistant to the formation of labour unions, as have some officials who say that it would discourage foreign direct investment (FDI).
