On Wednesday, April 11 the new Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed (PhD) addressed residents in Ambo, Western Shoa zone of Oromia. He addressed the public who were eagerly waiting for his arrival. Calling for the public to turn its back on disarray and support the new chapter started by his party, the OPDO, and the EPRDF. The event was graced by Deputy Prime Minister, Demeke Mekonen; Workqneh Gebyehu, minister of Foreign Affairs; Shiferaw Shigute, office head of the EPRDF as well as regional state officials. This is the second location that the Prime Minister has visited, the first being in the Somali region a little over a week ago.
Abiy will be meeting with diplomats, ministers and the public on Sunday, April 15 at Millennium Hall in Addis Abeba.
