Abiy Appoints Lawyer Commissioner for Tax Appellate Commission




Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has picked a lawyer, Mulugeta Ayalew, to lead a newly commission in charge of accepting tax grievances and appeals from businesses. The Commission reports to the Prime Minister.

Mulugeta has served chairman of the Tax Appellate Council under the Office of the Attorney General since 2015. He has done a post graduate in international law and has served as head of the Justice Bureau in Amhara Regional State.

The Commissioner has nominated five individuals to work as members of the Commission, awaiting approval from the Prime Minister.
