Lufthansa to Start off Non-Stop Flight from Frankfurt to Addis

Lufthansa is to launch a non-stop flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Addis Abeba, for the first time since the German carrier began its flights 49 years ago. Lufthansa says it will start the non-stop flight beginning at the end of next October.

The airlines, operating in 100 countries with 343 destinations worldwide, plans to kick off five flights daily, except for Mondays and Wednesdays, using its Airbus aircraft with a configuration of 30 Business, 28 Premium Economy and 221 Economy Class seats.

The trip time from Addis Ababa to Frankfurt will be 6 hours 45 minutes, as the flight no longer has a stopover in Jeddah. Since the inaugural flight to Addis Ababa from Frankfurt in 1969, the routing was Frankfurt-Athens-Jeddah-Addis.

The national carrier, Ethiopian Airlines, has a non-stop daily flight to Frankfurt from Addis Abeba.
