Oromia Appointments Signal Cabinet Reshuffle at Federal Cabinet Soon

The appointments of three individuals by the Oromia Regional Administration, pulling them from federal agencies, signalled an imminent reshuffling of the cabinet of the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD). The regional government has announced today the appointments of Girma Amente (PhD), minister of Public Enterprise as head of Oromia Urban Development & Housing Bureau; Negeri Lencho (PhD), minister of Government Communications Affairs Office as head of Oromia Communications Affairs Office, replacing Addisu Arega; as well as Sisay Gemechu, CEO of Industrial Park Development Corporation (IPDC) as head of Oromia Industrial Development Agency.

The regional assembly also assigned new mayors for Adama, Asella, Nekempt and Shashemene.
