President Girma Passes Away, at 95

Former President Girma Woldegiorgis has passed away today at the age of 95. He has served in public service for 50 years, including as the Republic’s second President, succeeding Negasso Gidada (PhD), for two terms until 2013.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) had expressed his condolences this morning.

“I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the family of H.E. President Girma Wolde-Giorgis and to the People of Ethiopia.”
