ROLLING COVERAGE: Prime Minister Abiy to Appoint State Ministers

The administration of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) is expected to appointments state ministers today, with nearly 10 of them receiving new appointments, according to people familiar with announcement.

Among the new state ministers is Zeinu Jemal who is moving from the Federal Police, where he served briefly as commissioner, to the new Ministry of Peace. His election to the Central Committee of the SEPDM, a coalition member of the ruling EPRDF, is attributed for departure from the Federal Police Commission.

Another state ministerial position is expected to go to  Abdiwasa Abdilah (PhD), a university instructor, who will be joining Hirut W. Mariam (PhD) at the newly formed Ministry of Science & Higher Education.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has also appointed Eyob Tekaligne, former commissioner of the National Planning Commission, and Misganu Arga, former state minister for social affairs, as state ministers of Finance, and Trade & Industry, respectively.
