US Becomes First Western Country to Welcome the Installation of New PM

The United States is the first western country to welcome the installation of Abiy Ahmed (PhD) as Ethiopia’s Prime Minister. “We stand ready to support the government’s rapid implementation of democratic and economic reforms and look forward to the lifting of the State of Emergency,” says a statement the US Embassy issued few minutes after Abiy addresses the nation.
