Vice Governor Moves to Lead Think-tank




Yohannes Ayalew, vice governor of the central bank, has been appointed to lead a state-owned policy think-tank, the Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI).

A chief economist at the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE), Yohannes has been active in monetary policymaking over the past decade, where he is known for leaving behind a legacy of a heavy regulatory burden on the private financial sector.
