A livestock vaccination production plant was inaugurated in Bishoftu, Oromia Regional State.
Funded by the Food & Agricultural Organization and the United Nations, the vaccination plant was completed at a cost of 23 million Br.
The plant manufactures vaccination products for sheep, goats and cattle.
“This is one of the big technology plants that can be used to control livestock disease,” Gebregzabher Gebreyhoanes (PhD), state minister of the Agriculture & Livestock Resource Ministry.
The establishment of the plant enables the nation to attain the 2027 goal of eliminating cattle disease, he added.
The plant has the capacity of producing 22 different kinds of vaccinations and 250 million doses of medicine a year for local and export consumption.
